Among the career fields offered in the Army National Guard, there are over 150 jobs, also known as Military Occupational Specialties (MOS). Dive into each field to find the one that's right for you.
- Infantry: This is what the military is all about. Develop the Soldier skills to defend your country, your unit and yourself in battle as one of the Army National Guard's warriors.
- Armor and Field Artillery: Deliver the Army National Guard's thunder and lightning. Combine the artillery's crushing, long-range firepower with the armored branch's surprise, quick-strike capabilities.
- Aviation: Control the sky above the battlefield. Earn your wings as a pilot, fly as a crew chief or use your mechanic skills to maintain some of the world's most advanced aircraft.
- Medical: Make the difference in emergencies. Army National Guard medical personnel save lives in combat operations, domestic emergencies-even everyday situations.
- Military Police: Aviation officers are expert aviators first, overseeing aviation operations from maintenance to control tower operations to domestic and combat missions.
- Transportation: Deliver the Army National Guard around the world. Bring Soldiers and supplies to the heart of the battle or anywhere emergencies call and needs arise.
- Logistics Support: Supply troops with everything they need, on and off the battlefield. Support your fellow Soldiers by delivering and storing food, fuel, weapons and water.
- Mechanic and Maintenance: Keep the Army National Guard's machines rolling and equipment running into combat, during domestic emergencies and as part of everyday drilling and training.
- Signal and Military Intelligence: Become one of the Army National Guard's information and communication specialists, and help maintain and operate the world's most advanced technology and intel team.
- Engineer: Pave the way for any size construction or demolition project. From surveying and bulldozing to topping buildings and bridges, Army National Guard engineers lay the foundation.
- Administrative: Use your accounting, office-management, public relations and journalism skills to help manage the Army National Guard's payroll, records, news and image.
- Finance Corps: The finance corps is responsible for all Army National Guard financial matters—purchasing supplies and services, balancing budgets, and being sure Soldiers are paid for their service.
- Interpreter/Translators: Speaking and understanding foreign languages as well as their cultures and customs can earn qualified individuals an important place on the Army National Guard team.
These areas count towards your Armed Forces Qualifying Test (AFQT) score. The AFQT score determines whether you're qualified to enlist in the U.S. military. Your scores in the other areas of the ASVAB determine how qualified you are for certain military specialties. Score high, and your chances of getting the specialty/job you want increase.
